Isabelle Thorpe Synchro Swimmer

Isabelle Thorpe has impressed hugely in the international artistic swimming scene since her senior debut in 2016, having gone on to her maiden Olympic Games and contribute to record World Championship finishes.

2023 was Thorpe’s best year to date. Having combined with duet partner Kate Shortman, storming to bronze at the European Games in Krakow, the pair then recorded Great Britain’s highest-ever duet finish at a World Championships, in Fukuoka.

In 2021, she made her Olympic debut in Tokyo, recording a 14th-place finish in the Women’s Duet alongside Shortman, having secured their position in the Games via qualification in Barcelona.

In her senior career, Budapest was to become an enjoyable venue for Thorpe. In 2017, she competed at her maiden World Championships, impressing to finish 16th in the Duet Free event, again with Shortman. The pair returned to Hungary to record seventh-place duet results at the European Championships in 2021, before impressing again in a busy duet and team schedule at world-level in 2022.

She also made her senior international debut in 2016, competing with the British team at the French Open in Paris, then the European Championships in London. Also in 2016, the duet pair competed at the European Junior Championships in Rijeka, finishing 10th in the Duet, while Thorpe also helped the British squad to top 10 finishes in the Team and Free Combination events.
