British National Diving Cup 2022 #NDC2022

11 Feb 2022 — 13 Feb 2022

The British National Diving Cup 2022 will take place at the Plymouth Life Centre from the 11th-13th February. The event will showcase the best of Britain’s diving talent at the start of a busy year for the sport.

Kickstarting a packed year for the sport, the Plymouth Life Centre will host the three-day event from 11th-13th February, as Britain's best divers compete for national titles in an elite competition environment - the first National Diving Cup since 2019.

The 2022 calendar features World Championships, Commonwealth Games and European Championships among an eye-catching run of elite international meets later in the year - and the National Diving Cup will provide a valuable first arena opportunity of the year for all involved. Athletes are set to compete across 1m and 3m springboard and 10m platform contests, in individual and synchronised events.

Update - 10th February 2022

Following on from the announcement by FINA of an extraordinary World Championships from 18th June – 3rd July,  the British Diving Leadership Group is currently working through the implications for our June National Championships and the selection policy for the Budapest World Championship event.

We are yet to receive any specific protocols from FINA for the World Championships, including entry deadlines.

Ahead of the start of the National Diving Cup, the British Diving Leadership Group would like to make it clear to all athletes and coaches:

  •  A new selection policy for the World Championships will be published as soon as British Swimming is in receipt of official information from FINA
  • The Diving Cup will no longer be the sole selection event for the World Championships. However, performances from the Diving Cup may be considered by the Selection Panel at their sole discretion
  • We are looking at prescribing some additional events from which performances will also be considered for selection, including the feasibility of moving the dates for the Summer National Championships to an earlier timeframe. These events will be communicated as soon as practical
We appreciate the uncertainty this creates, but more information will follow as soon as possible.
