2024 Shortlist: Tom Daley, Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix and Noah Williams

Tom Daley

Tom Daley further cemented his incredible legacy as Aquatics GB's most-decorated Olympic diver when he partnered Noah Williams to superb silver in the Men's 10m Synchro in Paris in August.

That brilliant result - which never looked in doubt across six accomplished dives - meant a fifth Olympic medal for Tom, who only returned to the sport in the second half of 2023 after an extended post-Tokyo break.

In that time, he became world champion again in the Mixed Team event, alongside Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix, Dan Goodfellow and Scarlett Mew Jensen, and secured World Championship silver and the Olympic quota spot in the men's platform synchro with Noah.

Impressive World Cup performances also showed what Tom and Noah could achieve in Paris - and they duly delivered with that outstanding silver, contributing to GB's unprecedented clean sweep of synchro medals at the Games.

Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix

Aquatics GB Performance Centre London

Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix added the latest remarkable chapter in her young career across 2024, capping it with Britain's first-ever Olympic medal in the Women's 10m Synchro, alongside synchro partner Lois Toulson.

Spendolini-Sirieix and Toulson had already established their place among the world-leading divers in that event as they secured a second-successive World Championship medal in the event in February, before Andrea made history by claiming individual bronze in the Women's 10m Platform - on top of her maiden world title in the Mixed Team event.

Further World Cup successes in both synchro and individual contests set her up for a memorable Olympics, as the 20-year-old teamed up with Lois again to soar to synchro bronze in Paris. She also placed fifth in the individual event.

Noah Williams

A stunning 2024 season for Noah Williams saw him end it as only the third British diver in history to claim two medals at a single Olympic Games - following in the footsteps of Jack Laugher and synchro partner Tom Daley.

Noah partnered Tom to the first of those Olympic medals, the pair looking classy throughout to secure Men's 10m Synchro silver in Paris.

He then backed that up by diving to a dramatic and brilliant bronze in the curtain-call Men's 10m Platform, holding his nerve with a world-class sixth dive to leap into the medals at the perfect time.

All of that Games-time success followed on from a near-flawless display for Men's 10m Synchro silver alongside Tom at the Doha World Championships, before consistent successes on the World Cup circuit across the synchro and individual disciplines, and at May's Olympic test event.

Diving Emerging Athlete of the Year

2024 Shortlist: Maisie Bond, Skye Fisher-Eames and Noah Penman

Maisie Bond

Maisie Bond's silver medal in the Girls A Platform event at the 2024 European Junior Diving Championships was testament to her resilience as well as the quality of her performance as she capped a return from injury in style.

The 17-year-old's eye-catching Reverse 2 1/2 Somersaults Pike to close her list and take silver was the highest-scoring dive of the competition.

After time out recovering from injury, Maisie's return to the European Junior podium was a strong step forward, as she prepares for this winter's World Junior Championships in Rio de Janeiro - as with the other nominees - two years on from claiming a Girls B Platform silver on that global stage.

Skye Fisher-Eames

Dive London Aquatics

Skye Fisher-Eames produced an outstanding performance at the European Junior Diving Championships to secure the Girls B Platform title in a season that showed her versatility across springboard and platform.

Following on from her European Juniors debut in 2023, the 2024 campaign saw Skye from Dive London put in a supremely consistent display to take that European Girls B Platform crown in a close contest. At the same event, she also placed seventh in the 3m Springboard finale.

At April's Aquatics GB Elite Junior Diving Championships, she did a sweep of titles in both the Girls B 3m Springboard and Platform golds.

Noah Penman

Aberdeen Diving Club

Noah Penman left the European Junior Diving Championships in Rzeszow with two medals to his name after a fantastic 2024 season.

The Aberdeen Diving Club athlete delivered silver in the Boys A 1m Springboard event after a strong list of dives, having already teamed up with Hannah Newbrook, Amelie Underwood and Robbie Wood to secure Mixed Team Event bronze.

Noah also came close to the podium with Oscar Willcox as the pair finished fourth in the Boys A/B 3m Synchro showpiece, while closer to home, he picked up silver in the Boys A 1m Springboard event at April's Aquatics GB Elite Junior Diving Championships.

2024 Shortlist: Jane Figueiredo, Tom Owens, Alex Rochas and Adam Smallwood

Jane Figueiredo

Jane Figueiredo saw all three of her Olympic divers in Paris leave the Games with medals around their necks - including that brilliant two-medal haul for Noah Williams - as she enjoyed a memorable year of coaching success.

It began on day one at the Olympic Aquatics Centre as Scarlett Mew Jensen - alongside Tom Owens-coached Yasmin Harper - completed a whirlwind return from back injury to secure Women's 3m Synchro bronze, a first-ever British medal in that event.

Noah and Tom Daley then soared to the synchro podium, the pair brilliant throughout in taking Men's 10m Synchro silver. Jane then worked with Noah - who, like Scarlett, previously worked with the late, much-missed David Jenkins - to prepare for his individual contest on the final day of the diving programme - an event that saw him produce his best and reach the Olympic podium again, sparking memorable poolside celebrations from Jane herself.

Those results came on top of successful World Championship and World Cup campaigns earlier in the year for Jane's divers, with three of her athletes - Daley, Mew Jensen and Dan Goodfellow - contributing to gold in the Worlds Mixed Team event, while Daley and Williams preempted their Olympic result with silver in Doha.

Tom Owens

City of Sheffield Diving

Tom Owens' first Olympic Games as coach saw him guide fellow debutant Yasmin Harper to a breath-taking Women's 3m Synchro medal, alongside Scarlett Mew Jensen, in one of the moments of the Games.

After Yasmin and Scarlett backed up their maiden World Championship medal in that event from 2023 with bronze in Doha, Tom's work with the pair, alongside Jane Figureido, helped them to the Olympic podium at the first time of asking.

Under Tom's tutelage, Yasmin also challenged for a medal in the individual Women's 3m Springboard contest in Paris, ultimately just coming up short as she placed fifth - a result mirrored by Jordan Houlden, another of the City of Sheffield stable who impressed on his Games debut.

Earlier in the year, Owens-coached diver Ross Haslam returned to the senior international fold in memorable fashion by winning Men's 1m Springboard silver at the World Championships.

Alex Rochas

Aquatics GB Performance Centre London

Alex Rochas watched Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix dive to her maiden Olympic medal, Grace Reid reach her first individual World Championship podium and Kyle Kothari make an Olympic final in another busy season for the London Performance Centre coach.

That moment of Olympic history for Andrea and partner Lois Toulson in the Women's 10m Synchro in Paris, which saw them produce a nerveless display in a thrilling final, was the crowning moment as Alex's divers again showed their world-class quality on the sport's biggest stages.

Andrea, Grace and Kyle all dived well in making their respective individual finals at the Games, all after a run-in that saw Andrea become a world champion in the Mixed Team Event at February's World Championships, her performance to win Britain's first individual women's platform medal at that level with World Champs bronze and Grace becoming GB's first-ever individual Worlds medallist with 1m Springboard silver a few days earlier.

Add in a host of medals at World Cup and Olympic test events, and Alex's involvement on poolside was as busy and celebration-filled as it has ever been in 2024.

Adam Smallwood

Aquatics GB Performance Centre Leeds

Synchro success was the major diving storyline for Aquatics GB at this year's Olympic Games - and Adam Smallwood watched all three of his Olympic divers climb on to podiums after their virtuoso synchro performances.

Jack Laugher and Anthony Harding have flourished as a pairing under Adam's stewardship since the start of 2022, with their Paris bronze capping an incredible three years for their combination, a few months after they recorded the same result in the World Aquatics Diving World Cup Super Final.

Lois Toulson - coached by Smallwood - teamed up with Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix to win Team GB's first-ever Women's 10m Synchro Olympic medal in August, five months on from the pair claiming Worlds bronze in Doha as their impeccable record together on the sport's biggest stages continues to flourish.
