Making a splash on the scoreboard - but not in the pool! The diving calendar may have been dramatically cut short by the events of 2020, but there was still time early in the year for some memorable moments from the boards and platforms.
The three nominees for the Dive of the Year award have been picked from January's British Diving Championships in Plymouth, in conjunction with performances from each of the athletes at subsequent FINA events.
James Heatly
"He nailed this in the prelims" is how co-commentator Jack Haslam introduced James Heatly's fifth dive in the national Men's 3m Springboard final - a Forward 4 1/2 Somersaults Tuck (109C) effort.
Second time around, the Edinburgh Diving Club man did not disappoint either, nailing the attempt and receiving a score of 91.20. That tally was the single highest score of the event, and it was enough to cement his place in the lead, before another solid dive in round six ensured he made it back-to-back British titles with 478.50, less than two points ahead of silver medallist Dan Goodfellow.
A month later, Heatly carried that form into the FINA Grand Prix event at Rostock, where he reached the top step of the podium to claim one of three gold medals for Britain.
Noah Williams
Noah Williams landed his maiden senior international title in winning the Men's 10m Platform at March's FINA Diving World Series leg in Montreal - and he had given a hint at what was to come five weeks earlier in Plymouth.
While home athlete Matthew Dixon ultimately picked up the national crown with a final score in excess of 500, Dive London competitor Williams was the only person all weekend to earn a 10 from one of the judges for this effort in round four of the final.
Noah showed brilliant composure in the midst of a tense contest to pull out a 91.80 with his Reverse 3 1/2 Somersaults (307C), a result that sent the crowd into raptures.
Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix
The opening months of 2020 provided a series of firsts for Crystal Palace Diving Club's Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix.
Andrea would go on to join Heatly as a Rostock gold medallist in February, with victory in the Women's 10m Platform securing her a maiden win on the international stage.
Before that, though, was this stunning win in the same event at the British Championships. She led going into the fifth and final dive, but it still required a good score from her Back 2 1/2 Somersaults 1 1/2 Twists (5253B) - and Spendolini-Sirieix duly delivered.
"I have no words to describe it, I'm so happy!" she said afterwards, before picking up her first senior British gold medal.
