Great Britain returned to the London Aquatics Centre pool for the Team Technical final where they finished in eighth in the overall rankings at the LEN European Aquatics Championships.
The team of Olivia Federici, Katie Clark, Hannah Randall, Emma Critchley, Kate Shortman, Isabelle Thorpe, Jorja Brown, Phoebe Bradley-Smith, Zoe James, Danielle Cooper and Jodie Cowie posted a score of 76.9850.
The theme of the routine was ‘magic’ and they started the routine with a well-executed highlight before moving on to the required elements of the routine.
Katie Clark said, “It’s really great to be part of the European Champs. I just love this pool and it has such a great vibe about it.
“And being in front of the home crowd makes it even more special and amazing, and it’s only going to get better as the week goes on.”
A strong performance saw the British swimmers go up against dominant World Champions Russia who took the gold and the European title in score of 94.0994, flanked by Ukraine and Italy in silver and bronze respectively.
“We’ve got a great group of girls here in London and we really enjoyed that performance. We’re looking forward to the rest of the week” added Hannah Randall.
A solid start from the British Synchro camp on day one of the European Championships also saw Olivia Federici reach the Solo Free final.
