GB close Euro Campaign with Team Free Eighth

13 May 2016

The British Synchro team close their LEN European Aquatics Championship campaign with an eighth in the Team Free final.

Their final score of 79.000, saw an improvement on the score posted during Wednesday’s prelims, ranked the team ahead of Israel and Portugal after all 10 teams performed.

Federici said, “We had a team get together following our prelim swim and we all agreed we could really push it to that next level.”

The team improved the sharpness of their movement in the water to raise the execution points awarded by the judges.

“We did some major video analysis after our prelim swim so we could identify ways of really bringing up our score,” added Federici.

“We really wanted to put our passion into that performance and really bring it for the crowd and I think we achieved that.”

The European title and gold medal went to Ukraine with a score of 93.8000.

Ukraine were joined on the podium by the team from Italy (91.8000), and Spain went home with the bronze medal (90.0333).
