The London 2016 LEN European Aquatics Championships is proud to announce that it has secured The Ticket Factory as an Official Supplier following their appointment as the event ticketing provider.
Tickets for the 2016 European Championships, to be held at the iconic London Aquatics Centre at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in May, went on sale in September with 51,000 available in total across synchronised swimming, diving and swimming.
Over 11,000 tickets have been sold already with session 19, which includes the men’s 10m platform diving final, currently unavailable while there is also limited availability for sessions 29, 31 and 33, which include swimming finals.
The Ticket Factory has enjoyed a fine 2015 in the sports sector and was responsible for selling out the Emirates Arena in Glasgow last month as Great Britain made history by beating Australia in the Davis Cup semi-finals.
Prior to that in June, through a partnership with Sky Sports, they also sold out the Velodrome at the Lee Valley VeloPark in just seven minutes for Sir Bradley Wiggins’ successful UCI Hour Record attempt.
Tom Chambers, CEO at the London 2016 European Aquatics Championships, said: “The Ticket Factory has come on board as an official supplier of the 2016 European Aquatics Championships.
“We were impressed with the full programme of support offered by The Ticket Factory as part of their proposal and believe they mirrored our priorities for the Championships.
“The 2016 European Aquatics Championships will form a crucial part of the performance journey for all three disciplines and provide a benchmark ahead of the Rio Olympic Games being held later in the year, so it was important for us to choose the right ticketing agent.”
The Ticket Factory is the official box office for the NEC, Barclaycard Arena (formerly the NIA) and Genting Arena (formerly the LG Arena) and has secured the contract to be the main national ticket agent for 3A Entertainment.
They are also handling a full contact centre and fulfilment and box office services for the 2016 European Aquatics Championships, which are the first of its kind to be held in the UK since Sheffield played host in 1993.
Stuart Cain, Managing Director at The Ticket Factory, said: “I’m delighted to secure this major international event. This puts The Ticket Factory on to the international sporting stage and puts us head-to-head with other players in this market.
“Apparently, we were chosen ahead of the competition due to our system functionality and creative marketing package. I think it was more to do with my threat to wear trunks for the pitch!”
The London 2016 LEN European Aquatics Championships will be delivered in partnership with British Swimming, London & Partners, London Legacy Development Corporation and the Mayor of London. The Championship is part of UK Sport’s National Lottery backed #EveryRoadtoRio campaign, helping Britain’s athletes prepare for the Rio Olympic and Paralympic Games.
