Genevieve Randall is starting to get used to the big stage atmosphere at the European Games in Baku.
Randall and partner Jodie Cowie finished the synchronised swimming duet competition in 12th after today's final, won convincingly by Russia's Valeriya Filenkova and Daria Kulagina.
They'll return to the pool in the team events and Randall, 17, believes there is reason for future optimism after their 14th place at last year's European Championships in Berlin.
"It was a lot better than our prelim swim," she said.
"We managed to achieve more corrections that we had been given by our coaches, which was good. Overall our marks are higher and more consistent from each judge, which obviously is also good.
"This was my fifth swim in the competition so there was nothing that I didn't already expect to happen. I felt really well prepared, I'm pretty used to the competition environment now and it feels a lot more controlled."
Cowie, 17, now hopes a similar performance in the team final could see Great Britain secure the target top ten finish.
"It felt like we achieved everything we had been working on in the warm up," she said.
"We felt like we had more energy and more intensity whilst we swam.
"I'm really excited about the team event now. I think it will be a time for us to really put a performance in. I love swimming alongside other swimmers and especially my team mates. I'm really looking forward to it."
The team took to the pool later in the session to compete in the Free final. The eight synchro swimmers performed the routine with confidence, power and speed.
The athletes finished in ninth place with a score of 144.6049.
