The British Gas GBR Synchronised Swimming team finished 10th place overall in the Team Free at the 2014 European Championships in Berlin.
The team improved on their performance in the prelim to score 75.9667 and finish with a combined total of 148.7284.
"Our Free team really stepped it up for the final which was shown by the score"
In a strong field that included Olympic and World Champions Russia, the British team performed an energised routine with complex figures.
Jodie Cowie said: “We are really pleased with how the competition has gone. Our Free team really stepped it up for the final, which was shown by the score which really improved.
“We achieved a lot of the corrections that we’ve been working on in training between the prelims and the final. We’ve worked on our lifts, which all ended up much higher, and we also worked on our height out of the water and our sharpness.
“Our confidence of presentation also improved since the prelims because we knew what to expect so we just went out there and tried to do it bigger and better in the final.”
High Performance Manager Lauren Smith said: “Tonight’s performance was much better than the prelims, which is what we were looking for, and the girls performed well despite being one of the youngest teams here.
“It has been a great opportunity for them to be here and it will give them confidence for the future of British synchro.”
