Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix and Lois Toulson will lead British Diving into the new-look World Aquatics Diving World Cup as the inaugural event gets underway in Xi'an, China tomorrow (14th April).
Spendolini-Sirieix and Toulson are lining up together in the Women's 10m Synchro, which gets the action underway across three days of top-level international competition - eight months on from the pair taking European gold alongside each other in that same synchro contest.
World Championship silver-medal-winning duos Matty Lee and Noah Williams (Men's 10m Synchro) and Jack Laugher and Anthony Harding (Men's 3m Synchro) will also take to the platforms and boards on day one in Xi'an, as all four synchronised events take place with straight finals.
The Diving World Cup contest is the first major international competition of the season for the British Diving cohort, with the second leg following from 5th-7th May in Montreal, Canada, ahead of the British Diving Championships, which will be the key selection event for this summer's World Aquatics Championships.
Other British athletes in action throughout the opening World Aquatics event in China include Grace Reid and Yasmin Harper, who line up in the Women's 3m Springboard on Saturday. That day will also see Laugher and Dan Goodfellow contest the Men's 3m Springboard event.
Day three sees Spendolini-Sirieix and Toulson in individual action as they target Women's 10m Platform success, before Williams and Ben Cutmore do the same in the men's event. The curtain is scheduled to come down on the Diving World Cup opener late on Sunday morning (11.30am BST) with Harper, Laugher, Lee and Spendolini-Sirieix combining efforts in the Mixed 3m & 10m Team event.
Desharne Bent-Ashmeil has not travelled for the opening leg of the Diving World Cup due to a shoulder injury.
Live results and broadcast coverage of the competition will be available across the weekend on the World Aquatics website.
The Diving World Cup opener is taking place at the same time as our own British Elite Junior Diving Championships in Plymouth, with more on that event here.
