Britain’s swimmers and para-swimmers will be putting their best foot forward encouraging the nation to get active.
Team Park Run is returning with more than 200 elite athletes taking part from across UK Sport’s funded programmes.
Senior park runs are over a 5km course, with junior events across 2km, and people can run, jog or walk the route.
The aim of the project is for athletes to thank the public for their support over the years, by playing the National Lottery. And the sports stars will act as tail walkers, to show they are right behind the public.
And swimmers and para-swimmers including Max Litchfield, Alice Tai and Maisie Summers-Newton will be taking part over the next three weekends.
Olympic long jump champion and Team Park Run ambassador Greg Rutherford said: “I was fortunate to be involved in this campaign last year and I am delighted to be back because Team Park Run is a fantastic opportunity for athletes to go out into local communities across the UK.
“As National Lottery funded Olympic and Paralympic athletes, we feel the public right behind us whenever we are competing.
“Team Park Run is an opportunity to get out there to say thank you for supporting us every step of the way and we are right behind you too.
“I would urge everyone out there to come along to their local parkrun and whether you walk, jog, run or volunteer, I know you will have a fantastic time.
“You are even welcome to join us athletes as tail walkers at the parkruns across the country because no one finishes last at a parkrun!”
