Anderson shortlisted in SWOTY Awards

World Junior Champion Freya Anderson has been shortlisted as Young Sportswoman of the Year at The Sunday Times Sportswomen of the Year Awards in association with Vitality.

The annual Sportswomen of the Year Awards recognise achievements of women in sport throughout the year and gives awards to the Sportswoman of the Year, Young Sportswoman of the Year and Disability Sportswoman of the Year. 

Anderson has excelled in 2017 by qualifying for her first senior World Championships at just 16-years old. She impressed to reach the semi-final of the 100m Freestyle in Budapest's Duna Arena. 

She ended her season with gold in the 100m Freestyle at the World Junior Championships in Indianapolis.

Other athletes shortlisted with Freya in the Young Sportswoman of the Year category include Ellie Downie (artistic gymnastics), Sammi Kinghorn (para-athletics) and Millie Knight (para-skiing).

The winners will be announced on Thursday, October 26 at the awards evening in London.
