Davies delivers bronze on day two

Loughborough-based Georgia Davies claimed Great Britain’s first medal of the FINA World Championships (25m) on the second day in Windsor with bronze in the Women’s 100m backstroke.

Davies was beaten to the touch by Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu who took gold and Kylie Jaqueline Masse of Canada claimed the silver medal 

Kathleen Dawson continued her impressive breakthrough into the senior ranks of the British team with a strong swim in the final and a fifth place finish.

In the Men’s 100m Butterfly semi-finals Adam Barrett set a new British short course record of 49.21 and booked himself into the today’s final (8 Dec) as the fastest qualifier.

Mark Szaranek missed out on a finals birth of the 100m butterfly as he ranked 16th after his semi-final swim but set a new personal best of 51.48.
