Eight young swimmers have been selected to represent Britain at next month's European Junior Open Water Championships in France (23rd-25th July).
Alex Cooper (Wycombe District), Isaac Dodds (Ellesmere College), Charlie Hutchison (pictured, Loughborough University) and Joshua Weston (Wycombe District) will compete across the men's marathon swimming events, while Ella Dyson (Wycombe District), Lucy Fox (Wycombe District), Aimee Hood (City of Birmingham) and Amelia Rodd (Ellesmere College) make up the women's team.
The racing will take place across three days in the rowing lake of Paris' Parc de Choisy-le-Roi.
The team confirmation follows on from last weekend's selection meet at Llandegfedd Lake, Coed y Paen in Pontypool, Monmouthshire, with Swim Wales successfully hosting the event despite the difficult ongoing competition circumstances.
Speaking on the selections for the European Junior Championships, British Swimming Marathon Lead Bernie Dietzig said: "Firstly, it's a great result just to have had a selection meet in the current times - and we are very grateful to Swim Wales for running it. There has been a lot of positive feedback from coaches.
"We've been able to select a strong team to go to France. Some have swum at international level before and others have not. The European Juniors are a great stepping stone for those who are moving through the age groups into senior-level racing.
"Alice Dearing and Hector Pardoe have just been named on Team GB for the Olympic Games, they both came through the same ranks and were exposed to that level of racing at junior level, so this is a great opportunity for all the athletes involved."
