Olympic swimming coaching team applications open

13 Sep 2023

Applications for the Paris 2024 Olympic swimming coaching team are open, as the countdown to the Games continues.

The process for selecting the coaching staff for marathon and pool swimming in Paris has been designed with early selection in mind, enabling selected coaches to participate in bespoke team preparations during 2023 and 2024, and to ensure that key relationships can be fostered between coaches and athletes alike, with Britain's swimmers looking to build on their best-ever performance at an Olympics two years ago.

In Tokyo, our swimmers won eight medals, including four golds - in the Mixed 4x100m Medley Relay, Men's 4x200m Freestyle Relay, Adam Peaty in the 100m Breaststroke and Tom Dean in the 200m Freestyle, while Duncan Scott became Britain's most-decorated Olympian at a single Games with one gold and three silvers to his name.

Coaches wishing to apply to be part of the team that will support the Team GB swimmers next summer should complete the application form found here, with further details on the selection process available here. Applications close on Friday 22nd September at 5pm BST.

British Swimming Performance Director Chris Spice said: "Our Olympic swimming coaching team play such a pivotal role in getting our athletes to the blocks in the best physical and mental condition to perform in the Olympic arena. With Paris now fast approaching and our swimmers continuing to thrive with their performances across numerous international events over the past season, we are excited to see the applications from coaches as we look to build the best possible team for Paris - and we welcome any coaches who fit the British Swimming team behaviours (outlined in the application document) to apply."
