Team Scotland demonstrated their medley swimming depth in the Men’s 200m Individual Medley heats with a trio of athletes through to the final.
Dan Wallace, who finished eighth in the same event at Rio 2016, will lead the home nation attack and is joined by Duncan Scott who will be looking to add to his already record breaking Gold Coast 2018 medal haul and Mark Szaranek who took the silver in the 400m IM earlier in the week.
The Scot’s will be joined by Xavier Castelli of Team Wales in lane one.
The Women’s 400m Freestyle was the first event of the final heats session of Gold Coast 2018 swimming.
Team England’s Holly Hibbott returned to the pool following yesterday’s impressive personal best swim in the Women’s 800m and qualified just behind compatriot Eleanor Faulkner who goes into the final as the second fasted woman.
Camilla Hattersley (Scotland) was also back in action and will join Faulkner and Hibbott in the title decider swim. Hattersley’s teammate and fellow Scot Hannah Miley ranked tenth.
Olympic silver medallist Jazmin Carlin and Ellena Jones, both of Wales, weren’t on the pace and failed to book themselves a final spot.
Jersey swimmer Gemma Atherley rounded off her busy programme of events as she finished 16th after three heats of the four hundred.
Three home nation athletes went in the single heat of the Men’s S9 100m Backstroke to decide the lane draw for the final.
Lewis White (England) ranked fifth and will go in lane two for the final, fellow Englishmen and Commonwealth Games debutant Jacob Leach joins the race in lane seven after his sixth-place finish.
Northern Ireland’s Barry McClement’ completes the S9 100m Backstroke field in lane eight.

There were no heats for the Women’s 4x100m Medley Relay, with only eight countries entered. England, the Isle of Man, Scotland and Wales will all feature in the final.
Over in the Men’s 4x100m Medley Relay, ten nations had entered quartets meaning two heats to decide the lane draw and reserves.
Elliot Clogg, James Wilby, Jacob Peters and David Cumberlidge ranked second fastest behind host nation Australia to secure lane five in the final for Team England.
The quartet of Stephen Milne, Craig Benson, Sean Campsie and Jack Thorpe put Team Scotland in to the final race of the Gold Coast 2018 swimming competition ranked third.
