Team GB Marathon Swimmer Keri-anne Payne finished seventh in the Women’s 10km race just off the Copacabana beach in Rio.
Following a water start Payne moved through the rankings to secure her overall ranking.
At the halfway stage of the race she was placed 15th and managed to work her way through the field finding herself in 9th at the of the third lap and 7.5km of the course completed.
With just metres to go Payne was placed eighth and that’s where she touched home, however following a disqualification further up the rankings awarded seventh.
