Another successful heats session in the pool for the ParalympicsGB swimming team as all nine athletes that took to the water qualified for finals later today in Rio.
Rio 2016 silver medallist Jonathan Fox returned to the pool and was joined by Michael Jones to open the session in the pool.
Both lined up in the Men’s S7 50m Freestyle heats and each secured a lane in the final later this evening.
Next to take to the water in the Rio Aquatics Centre was Susie Rodgers, she went in the Women’s S7 50m Freestyle and comfortably progressed into the medal decider.
Six-time Paralympian Sascha Kindred delivered a composed swim and ensured himself a shot at yet another Paralympic medal in the Men’s S6 50m Butterfly.
Rio 2016 debutant Ellie Robinson cruised to victory in her heat of the Women’s S6 50m Butterfly and qualified fastest for tonight’s final.
The Men’s S9 400m Freestyle saw a double dose of ParalympicsGB debutants as Lewis White and Jonathan Booth, both eased into their first Paralympic Games finals.
Also in the S9 class, Amy Marren booked herself a finals berth in the 400m Freestyle. She’ll be looking to improve on her London 2012 performance as she returns to the pool later.
The British heats action was round off by another Paralympic Games first timer, Stephanie Slater put herself in contention for a medal in tonight Women’s S8 100m Butterfly final.
