Bethany Firth was making her ParalympicsGB debut at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games and impressed in all of her races.
She
started her campaign with gold in the 100m Backstroke and then secured the top
spot on the podium in the 200m Freestyle. She took silver in the 100m
Breaststroke and finished her campaign on a high with gold in the 200m
Individual Medley to become one of the most successful athletes for
ParalympicsGB. She made her debut on a British team at the IPC Swimming
European Championships in Funchal and won two silver medals.
The winner of the Para-Swimming Athlete of the Year award is decided by our panel of judges and will announced during the British Swimming Awards in London on 5 November.
