Oliver Hynd, Amy Marren and Hannah Russell broke world records as the British Gas GBR Para-Swimming team impressed at the German International Championships in Berlin.
Hynd bagged an S8 world record on the opening day, clocking 2:08.71 for silver in the MC 200m Freestyle
The 19-year old also set a British record 31.82 in the 50m Backstroke and scooped MC gold over 400m Freestyle and 100m Backstroke.
Russell claimed her world record on the second day in Berlin, winning 50m Backstroke gold in a new S12 world marker of 31.95.
She also set European S12 records over 200m Backstroke (2:35.61) and 400m Individual Medley (5:49.68) and British records in the 50m Freestyle (27.72), 50m Butterfly (31.25) and 200m Individual Medley (2:37.46).
Marren’s S9 world record came in the 400m Individual Medley as she won MC gold in 5:23.91.
The 15-year old also bagged three European records at the meet, touching in 2:16.23 in the 200m Freestyle final and clocking PBs for gold in the MC 200m Backstroke (2:32.39) and 200m Butterfly (2:35.14)
Alice Tai was the fourth British Para-Swimmer to set a European record at the meet, lowering the S10 marker to 2:28.01 as she won MC 200m Backstroke bronze.
The 15-year old, who has been named on her first major GB team for this summer’s IPC Swimming European Championships in Eindhoven, also set S10 British records over 50m Butterfly (32.33) and 200m Freestyle (2:18.95).
Jessica-Jane Applegate also had a successful meet, putting five of her S14 British records to the sword.
The Paralympic champion started by tying her 50m Freestyle marker of 27.79 on the opening day before adding British records over 400m Individual Medley (5:33.31), 50m Butterfly (30.38), 400m Freestyle (4:38.74) and 200m Butterfly (2:45.14).
The women’s British S14 800m Freestyle record also went in Berlin as Chloe Davies clocked a new marker of 9:44.03 while Jack Thomas (S14) and Matt Wylie (S9) also set 800m Free British records of 8:55.45 and 9:25.77 respectively.
Three British women’s breaststroke records were broken at the four-day meet. Chloe Buck got the ball rolling, clocking 2:55.06 for a new British SB8 200m Breaststroke marker before Claire Cashmore (SB8) set a 37.55 BR over 50m Breast and Nicole Lough (SB14) lowered her 100m Breast BR to 1:18.45.
Kahoru Harazawa and Danielle Bailey were the other two swimmers to set British markers, Harazawa (SM10) touching in 5:12.20 in the 400m Individual Medley and Bailey (S4) clocking 3:07.19 for the 100m Backstroke.
