Citi has been confirmed as a sponsor of the Manchester 2023 Para Swimming World Championships, which will be held at the newly refurbished Manchester Aquatics Centre from 31 July to 6 August 2023.
The announcement follows the global bank’s recent title sponsorship of the Para Swimming World Series in a two-season partnership from 2023 to 2024. The Citi Para Swimming World Series and the Para Swimming World Championships form part of the organisation’s long-standing commitment to Para sports focused on helping people with disabilities engage more actively with sport whilst improving inclusivity.
Craig Nicholson, Head of World Para Swimming said:
“We are delighted to have Citi as our partner for the World Championships. Their commitment to Para swimming is fantastic. The partnership is having a real positive impact in Para swimming at all levels of the sport and it’s great to have their continued support for Manchester 2023.
James Bardrick, Citi Country Officer, United Kingdom said:
“We are hugely honoured to partner with the 2023 World Championships in Manchester, deepening our commitment to Para Sports and the ambition to change the perception of disability.”
The biggest Para swimming event outside of the Paralympic games, Manchester 2023, will be the third time the World Championships have taken place in Great Britain. The last time at London 2019, 637 swimmers from 77 nations were welcomed with 188 records broken, including 39 world records and over 143M people watching around the world.
